1. During my
presearch I tried to really focus on things that would interest me but that I
did not know a great deal of information about. I had always had an interest in
event planning and anesthesia but when I started really diving into research, I
found a great deal more credible sources for the topic of anesthesia. Quite a
few showed up for event planning as well, but as I had assumed, they were not
academic sources. Instead, event planning had more sources such as blogs and “how
tos” which would not give me enough bulk for my project.
Once I chose to focus on anesthesia I knew immediately that
I just wanted my research question to focus on an overall view of anesthesia
because I knew nothing about it before beginning this project. I had undergone
it a few times but I always wanted to know how it worked and what different
forms there were. I am currently debating whether or not to narrow it down and
how I would do that in a way that would still be able to fully explain
anesthesia and how it works.
2. I would still like to find out some history behind
anesthesia and how it began so I am going to try this book:
The First Anesthetic; The Story of Crawford Long.

I think that anesthesia is an interesting topic to research, but I think you definitely need to narrow it. I can see how that might be difficult to do, and I don't really know much about anesthesia. Maybe you could research what anesthesia does to the human body, and how it can be potentially harmful to people. Some people die from anesthesia and others struggle to recover from it. This is just a suggestion, and I hope your research goes well.
